FAQs
Q. Do I need a consultation before taking a KUTA Essence?
A. As of end of March, 2022, KUTA Essences are finally available for sale to the general public. Go through this website and choose the essence you feel most drawn to - trust your instincts and yourself. Click on the SHOP NOW button under any essence to buy it from Kia Ora Lounge . Consultations are available if you feel you need them - please ask.
Q. How do I take KUTA Essences?
A. Every bottle comes with directions. We recommend 2 to 4 drops, 2 to 4 times a day. Put the drops straight under your tongue, or in some water.
Q. Can I take the drops with medication?
A. Yes. Vibrational essences have no contraindications and are completely safe to take alongside any medication.
Q. Do you make any essences without alcohol in them?
A. Not at the moment - sorry. We use alcohol as a preservative for our essences because it really does make the best preservative in our opinion - not just in a practical sense, but it also holds the vibrational imprint in the water perfectly (we find that glycerin dulls it a bit). However, if you put the drops into hot water, this will also evaporate the alcohol, and once it's cooled to the right temperature, you can drink it - the vibrational imprint of the essence stays intact. Essences are also effective when you apply them topically, either straight on the skin, or placed in some cream and then on your skin.
Q. Are flower and vibrational essences the same as homoeopathy?
A. No. They're made a different way, they hold their energetic imprint in a different way, and they're prescribed in a different way (and often for different things). Homoeopathy prescribes on 'like cures like' and matches often very pathological symptoms to the remedy that 'proves' it. Flower and other vibrational essences (that are made from crystal, or the environment, or are channelled) are prescribed on bringing back into balance uneven polarities within a person's emotional and energetic bodies, and are also often prescribed on the archetypal spiritual forces and soul obstructions that hold a person back.
Q. Are KUTA Essences suitable for children?
A. They won't do children any harm (vibrational essences have no side effects) but we would say that most children would not find them beneficial as the kinds of deep-grained energies and thought patterns the essences seek to shift are very much found in adults and in the adult way of thinking. Most children are born pretty free from all that, although there are a handful of kids who do carry very heavy karma into this world. Use your judgement on this. Personally, it would be rare for us to prescribe a KUTA Essence for a child. (If you do give it to your child, please apply it topically, or evaporate the alcohol in water.)
Q. Are KUTA Essences suitable for pets?
A. Do you have pets who have problems making huge energy shifts and letting go of old thought patterns? (Okay, yes, that was said tongue-in-cheek!) Animals generally don't have a problem being in balance with nature and the planetary changes in the atmosphere. KUTA Essences were definitely created for humans. They won't do your pets any harm, but your pets are unlikely to get anything out of them.
Q. Can I mix the KUTA Essences together?
A. With the exception of KUTA-0 (Venus Eclipse of the Sun), which can be combined with any other KUTA Essence, we do not suggest combining these essences with each other as we feel - because they work on transitional and transformational phases - they are best taken as single essences. However, a KUTA Essence, even in dosage strength, can be added to other system combinations (e.g. to a Bach Flower Remedies blend) in order to help shift everything along (give it a kick up the arse!) - simply choose the one that seems the most appropriate for your needs.
Q. How long should I take an essence for?
A. We always recommend taking an essence consistently, every day, for up to 4 to 5 weeks. But if you feel the needed change has been made after even just a week, you can stop taking the essence if you want to. It's entirely up to you.
Q. What's the difference between a stock concentrate and a dosage strength bottle?
A. A stock concentrate is specifically made for dilution into a dosage bottle, or to be diluted in water every time you take it. It also contains brandy at 20% abv, ensuring years of shelf life if stored correctly (due to regulations, we have stated a 'best before' date of five years for that percentage). Practitioners use stock concentrate because they make up dosage bottles for clients and the stock bottles are more cost effective when doing this. If you are buying a remedy to take consistently and daily over a month for a specific ailment, with no plans to use it again, making a dosage bottle is recommended as it can be taken straight under the tongue without further dilution and will last you the whole course of a month. You can also dilute it further by mixing your dosage potency into drinks or making yet another dosage bottle from it - we find there's very little difference (if any) in the energetic strength between stock and dosage.
We only sell the 10ml stock concentrate of KUTA Essences, but also sell empty 30ml dropper bottles so you can make up your own dosage bottles.
Q. How do I store the essences?
A. Upright, in a cool, dark place, away from strong scents (like essential oils, curry, mint, etc). While the scents might not alter the vibrations of the essence, they might well mar the taste over a length of time.
Q. How long do the essences keep?
A. By law, we have to give you a 'best before' date because they are classed as a food supplement: our stock concentrate bottles have a shelf life of five years. However, they should last much longer if you store them correctly as detailed above. If unsure, things to look out for are debris or 'bits' in the liquid (that means it's gone off and you need to throw it away), and sometimes (after many years) the rubber on the pipettes start to disintegrate (in which case you need to change the pipette and double check the liquid). Lastly, when taking the essence straight on your tongue from the pipette, avoid touching the end of the pipette with your tongue and getting saliva on it as this may affect the shelf life of your essence.
